All-inclusive Romaniacs 2020 Sightseeing and Riding Tour 

Red Bull Romaniacs is highly regarded as the World’s Toughest Hard Enduro Rallye, and we can provide you with an opportunity to watch the World’s best hard enduro riders up close & personal over the course of the race and also to do some great riding yourself in the famous Carpathian Mountains of Romania. There is no minimum group-size to make a booking on this tour, but we will be capping the group to a maximum size of 10 riders.

The price for this itinerary is €1650/person. See the list of inclusions, optional extras and exclusions below. Please contact us now to make your booking or feel free to ask us any questions you may have. Bookings are secured upon receipt of a 10% deposit. Balance payable upon arrival.

Day 1: Sat 18 July – Welcome Day

  • Arrive Sibiu or Bucharest International Airport.

  • Pickup from airport.

  • Lunch in Sibiu - if morning flight arrival in Sibiu. 

  • Check out bikes, make adjustments as necessary – handlebars, levers etc.

  • Receive Tour Jersey.

  • Welcome BBQ & beers at the farmhouse.

 

Day 2: Sun 19 July – Riding Day 1 – gentle introduction to Romanian terrain

  • Breakfast at farmhouse.

  • Riders briefing.

  • Day 1 riding – morning session will be a gentle warm-up to the week to allow riders to settle in to the terrain, cope with jetlag etc. Afternoon session will be tailored on the basis of how the morning session goes. The aim is to use Day 1 to build up a bit of an understanding of the terrain and riding styles needed.

  • Lunch stop at a restaurant.

  • Dinner & drinks at farmhouse:

    • Hot tub to rest any weary bodies.

    • Riding day de-brief & agree day 2 riding plan.

 

Day 3: Mon 20 Jul – Day 2 riding – build up day.

  • Breakfast at farmhouse.

  • Day 2 riding – the aim for day 2 is to build up your confidence and skills in riding the terrain of the Carpathian Mountains. We will mix up the terrain so you get to experience a little bit of everything – open terrain, off-camber, hills (up & down!), rivers, forest, great views.

  • Lunch stop at a restaurant.

  • Dinner at local restaurant or BBQ at farmhouse.

  • Wind down at farmhouse with hot tub, drinks etc.

Day 4: Tue 21 Jul – Prologue Day

  • Breakfast at farmhouse.

  • Morning: Watch prologue heats – all classes.

  • Lunch at a restaurant in Sibiu Old Town.

  • Afternoon: Watch prologue finals – all classes.

  • Dinner at a restaurant in Sibiu Old Town.

  • Return to farmhouse:

    • Relax.

    • Riders briefing for riding day 3.

    • Pack small bag for following night.

 

Day 5: Wed 22 Jul – Moving day

  • Breakfast at farmhouse.

  • Drop off overnight bag in van.

  • Day 3 riding, including stops at Spectator Points. Today’s ride will lead us to a traditional Romanian Pension for our

  • overnight stop.

  •  Lunch stop at a restaurant.

  • Dinner & drinks at Pension:

    • Riding day de-brief & riding day 4 briefing.

 

Day 6: Thu 23 Jul – Homecoming day

  • Breakfast at Pension.

  • Drop off overnight bag in van.

  • Day 4 riding, including stops at Spectator Points. We might try some typical Silver class terrain, depending upon rider standards & desires. Check out this video for an idea of a Silver class hill.

  • Lunch stop at a restaurant.

  • Welcome back BBQ & drinks at farmhouse.

 

Day 7: Fri 24 Jul – Final riding day

  • Breakfast at farmhouse.

  • Day 5 riding, including stops at Spectator Points. We might try some typical Silver and/or Gold class terrain, depending upon rider standards & desires.

  • Lunch stop at a restaurant.

  • Hand back bikes and assess for any damages.

  • Dinner & drinks at farmhouse or restaurant near farmhouse:

    • Hot tub for very weary bodies.

    • Riding week de-brief & celebration.

 

Day 8: Sat 25 Jul – Watch the finish at the famous Gusterita Hill

  • Recovery breakfast & chill-out at farmhouse.

  • Transport to Gusterita Hill.

  • Watch & cheer the riders attempt the famous hill climb at Gusterita Hill and attempt the challenging obstacles before crossing the finish line.

  • Farewell dinner in Sibiu Old Town.

  • Transport to Farmhouse.

 

Day 9: Sun 26 Jul

  • Breakfast at farmhouse.

  • Transfer to Sibiu or Bucharest International Airport.

  • Depart Sibiu / Bucharest.

 

Inclusions:

  • Airport pick up and dropoff from Sibiu or Bucharest International Airport.

  • 8 nights accommodation.

  • Bike Hire – KTM 300TPI motorcycles with protection (hand guards, bash plate, fan) and hard enduro engine mapping.

  • 5 days riding.

  • Tour jersey.

  • Fuel.

  • Guide.

  • All meals – breakfasts, lunches, dinners.

  • Drinks – soft drinks, beer, wine, Romanian schnapps.

 

Optional Extras:

  • Bike damage insurance - €250. This will cover bike damages up to €400. Damages in excess of €400 will be charged at cost of replacement parts.

 

Exclusions:

  • Bike damages. Any bent or broken parts will be charged at cost of replacement parts. Bike damage insurance is available as an optional extra.

  • Travel insurance. You will be riding at your own risk and will be personally accountable for your own actions. We strongly encourage you take out appropriate travel insurance.

COVID-19 Information:

  • If Romaniacs is postponed due to the COVID-19 virus, then Carpathian Adventures will use best endeavours to reschedule this tour. Riders will be able to obtain a refund of their deposit if they are unable to attend the revised dates.

  • If Romaniacs is cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus, then Carpathian Adventures will give riders the option to apply the deposit to another tour or obtain a full refund.
